Michael Jordan made it into the Hall of Fame. Well, duh. Didn’t you expect him to? Jordan was elected to the Class of 2009 Monday with David Robinson, John Stockton, Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan and Rutgers women's coach C. Vivian Stringer. Jordan was adamant that Air Jordan would have never emerged if not for his college coach, Dean Smith, with whom he won a championship with.

That was a nice start, but Jordan collected six more with the Chicago Bulls. Jordan finished a 15-year career with the Chicago Bulls and Washington Wizards with 32,292 points -- the third-highest total in league history, behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone. His final career average of 30.12 goes down as the best, just ahead of Wilt Chamberlain's 30.07.

Why is it that receivers always generate the most drama? Chad Ocho Cinco lost a $250,000 bonus for not participating in the Bengals offseason program. This is the second year in a row. He is acting as though he isn’t part of the team, and QB Carson Palmer is treating him as such.

The Giants officially released Plaxico Burress, although he did win a million dollar grievance against the team. Plax lost a lot of money last season and also tarnished his reputation by putting a bullet in his thigh. Despite all the drama, his agent assured everyone that he is being heavily pursued.

The general consensus is that the Giants just need to trade for Braylon Edwards. Most are in agreement that this would benefit both parties immensely. And one more football related tidbit, Michael Vick’s plan to overcome bankruptcy was denied. Well, I guess. When you tell the judge that working a construction job for $10 an hour for 10 years will undo several million dollars worth of debt, I’m pretty sure he thinks that you’re just there to crochet.

The March Madness is over, the Final Four has been cut in half. Only Michigan State and North Carolina remain. Tyler Hansborough will get his chance to justify staying another year. Due to deadline obligations I won’t be able to talk about the actual game here. I just wanted to let everyone know, that I’m predicting a UNC victory. It’s in print; it’s final; it’s the NCAA basketball national championship.
